Gretel

For those of you who didn't know already I am a huge fan of horses. These are a couple of drawings I did a good while back of a horse that I learnt to ride on. Her name was Gretel and she was an amazing Cob. She had groovy flares so we were a good match.

Fran...A Cob is bigger than a pony, "Cob" describes the body type rather than the breed of the horse.Cobs would be stockier and shorter than your regular horse. Some of them look like Gypsy Horses with the long hair around the hoofs. There are some amazing pictures of them on the internet. I am particularly fond of them. I might have some fullbody photos of Gretel at home. I'll have a root around and see if I can find them.

Nice sketches Gillian!
To answer your question: Castletownshend is a little village on the west cork coast a few miles south of Skibbereen ;)
