Chrimbo

Just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and New Year. This has been a particularly bad year for the amount of artwork I have posted on my blog so hopefully next year I'll be back with a bang with some really cool news on the new projects I'll be working on in 2015.
So on that note I wish you all well.

Dr. Sketchy's does Dr. Who?

Last weekend I went to my second Dr. Sketchy's life drawing class. The theme was Dr.Who which I have never really been a fan of or given much thought to. I didn't come out with too many great drawings but these I thought turned out interesting and it was really good for the drawing practice anyway. They are completely different from anything I have ever tried before in life drawing class and I really enjoy it so good times all round. Next theme is going to be Labyrinth....YES!

Limited Edition Prints

I was asked to do a little picture to be part of a limited edition print collection at The Animation Art Show this year. So here is my contribution, whadoyaknow more Monsters and Birds. This is a refreshed version of a little flash sketch I did yonks ago.
There will be only five 8"x10" high quality signed pieces from 7 different artists, me, Paul O' Flanagan, Chris O'Hara, Eimhin McNamara, Ciaran Duffy, Stephen McGann and Lousie Bagnall. All print were done in the Copper House Gallery and they did a beautiful job.
So if your not lucky enough to bag yourself a piece at the auction there is still hope with you going home with something special.

Opening night tonight...Temple Bar Gallery 6.00pm. Be there or not be there the choice is your but you'll be missing out.

Introducing Nanook

This is Nanook, meaning "Polar Bear". He is my submission for the Animation Art Show taking place in the Temple Bar Gallery, Temple Bar on the 17th-19th October 2014.

All Artwork submitted to the Animation Art Show is Auctioned off on the Sunday to raises much needed funds for Irish Childrens Charities, such as The Jack and Jill Foundation and ISPCC. Over the last few years the show has raised over 20,000 euro which is quite an achievement. So if your interested head along to the show, it is always great fun and very exciting!!!!

Little Me's

It's been a while since I posted to my blog. Work is crazy busy with the second season of Randy Cunningham so unfortunately I haven't had much time to do any personal work. So instead I have posted a little something that was sent to me the other morning. A young freelance illustrator called Dom "Scruffy" Murphy took it upon himself to do some little Gill's based on a sketch Jamie Teehan did of me a while back. Needless to say I was quite chuffed with the suprise.
I got my tattoo, my lipring, my beany's.....look, I even got a little Monster!!!!

Thank you Dom.
Love them.
