Dr. Sketchy's-Michael Hussar Tribute

It was Dr.Sketchy's again on Saturday and the tribute was to Michael Hussar(above). I kinda went for something a little different and alot more graphic then I would normally. The sessions are really good fun, even if I do wish some of my artwork was abit better. But hopefully that will come in time.

Last weekend I went to my second Dr. Sketchy's life drawing class. The theme was Dr.Who which I have never really been a fan of or given much thought to. I didn't come out with too many great drawings but these I thought turned out interesting and it was really good for the drawing practice anyway. They are completely different from anything I have ever tried before in life drawing class and I really enjoy it so good times all round. Next theme is going to be Labyrinth....YES!

Life Drawing...Blind

Back to life drawing after a good few weeks. This time we took a different approach to what we were doing and drew blind (looking only at the figure, not at the page and trusting yourself to do the rest) . The first one I found myself cheating quite alot and looking down to the page but these four I stayed from looking at my page so I popped thme up cause I think the finished pieces are kinda interesting. I learnt alot about my approach to drawing and how I observe...really enjoyed the class.

The drawings aren't great but I am going to stick with it and see what happens when I get a bit more familiar with the materials.

Here's some of my life drawings from our final class with Niall. Wasn't the strongest of classes for me but have really enjoyed getting back into life drawing after almost a 10 year gap. Hopefully we will be taking it up again early in the New Year.

Life Drawing was super interesting this week we got a Fencer in called "Duke" to show us a few moves. I really enjoyed the class, kinda like Arya Stark and Serio Forel. Here's a goo at some of my work.

Jujitsu Life Drawing

We had a model wearing a Jujitsu robe last week in life drawing. I just tried something a little different with a Japenese ink pen. All this fabric was a bit of a challenge for me.

I used to adore life drawing back in college and it has been about a million years since then. My boss organised a few weeks of life drawing here in Boulder, so here we go...a few drawings from the session. They are nowhere near amazing but I enjoyed it !
